As is often the case during the preseason, it’s hard to say what the Eagles dismantling Cleveland by a final of 27-10 means for their Week 1 encounter, if anything at all.

To the surprise of no one, Cole Hamels (14-6, 2.94) is having a teriffic season. The words Cy Young have even been lobbed around lately, although he’ll need to have quite the finish to truly get in the hunt.
Beating the potential front-runner tonight would be a good start. The Reds’ Johnny Cueto is absolutely cruising in 2012. His 16 wins and 2.44 ERA are tops in the National League. Needless to say, tonight has pitchers’ duel written all over it.

Due to an unusual set of circumstances, the Eagles are holding their “dress rehearsal” one game early, which means when Monday Night Football kicks off tonight at 8 p.m., their starters will be going head to head with the reigning AFC Champion Patriots. Whether the opponent will treat the evening with any weight is another story.
