A Fan Reacts Properly to a Potential HR

We frequently point out all of the idiots who lean over the railing and interfere with a ball in play, so we thought it only right to give props to the guy who reacted in proper fashion to a ball hit off the very top of the wall in center field at Citizens Bank Park last.

In the bottom of the sixth inning last night, Raul Ibanez connected for a shot that you thought was a homer right off the bat, but the winds were wild with the gloomy weather and kept this ball in the park, but just barely.

As you can see in the video of Ibanez’s double, the ball missed being a home run by about a foot or so, and the fan right there easily could have leaned over and attempted to catch the would-be souvenir. Instead, the smart Phillies fan keeps his hands to himself and even does a pullback like “I’m not an idiot too!”

Perhaps the above fan is a visitor to this here website and read Kulp’s fantastic PSA, “You Are Not A Professional Baseball Player” earlier in the week.

Also, how awesome is the little kid in the video’s reaction? Some Phillies fans are simply awesome. And we salute you.
