All we've got is Phillies baseball for a couple of months now.
Sure, the NBA and NFL Drafts will be pretty important and provide plenty of sports chatter both leading up to and in the wake of the big events, but the only actual sporting competitions we'll have in town over the next couple of months will feature your Philadelphia Phillies.

This weekend set with the Nationals is actually an exciting one.
It was a pretty strange week for the Fightin' Phils. They had the rare scheduling occurrence that gave them two off days and were granted a third thanks to mother nature opening up like The Evster crying during an episode of Grey's Anatomy. Torrential downpour.
So the Phils played one game all week, an ugly loss to the Mets. But most of us probably didn't pay much attention because the Flyers were entertaining us, giving us hope, and then breaking our hearts yet again. Then we needed Thursday to unwind and grieve.
The time off actually allowed Bob McClure to set his starting rotation for a big early series with a division rival. The Phils will have their top guys in Cliff Lee, A.J. Burnett, and Cole Hamels for the three games against Washington.
The Phils are also catching a break in those guys not having to face Bryce Harper or Ryan Zimmerman who are both out with thumb injuries. But they will have to face a red hot Jayson Werth who has become something of a Phillies killer since departing Philly for the District.
CSNPhilly's Corey Seidman breaks down the scary numbers:
In 28 career at-bats against Lee, Jayson Werth has hit .357 with a double, a triple, two homers and a 1.023 OPS.
Against the Phillies last year at Citizens Bank Park, Werth hit .342/.409/.579 with three homers and eight RBIs in 10 games.
In his last eight games overall this season, Werth has hit .371 with three doubles and a homer.
In other words, let anybody else beat you Friday night.
Now those are reasons not to like Jayson Werth.
The Phils currently sit at 13-13 on the season, two games back from the Nats in the standings and 3.5 back from Atlanta. The outcome of this weekend's series with your best guns on the mound could really speak volumes about how the rest of the season could play out.
