Charlie Manuel Is Sorry They Didn’t Sell Out

Aug 7, 2012, 12:36 PM EDT

The tremendous 257 game sell out streak came to an end on Monday night. Charlie Manuel is sorry about that.

While the Phillies legit playoff hopes were dashed a few weeks ago, fans had still been packing Citizens Bank Park to come support their team. That wasn’t exactly the case on Monday night against the Braves, as the Phillies announced their first non-sellout crowd in years — 257 games to be exact.

Charlie Manuel was asked about the streak ending last night night and said he could see it coming with the way his team has been playing. He’s sorry about that. [video below]
