Day-Night Doubleheader: Pettibone, Then Lannan, Then Fireworks

Jul 13, 2013, 2:15 PM EDT

Jonathan Pettibone is your Dayman and John Lannan your Nightman when the Phillies face the White Sox at 3:05 and then again at 8:15.

Friday night’s game, postponed due to rain, is the 8:15′er so that those who had tickets for last night will still be able to see the postgame fireworks display tonight.

And Charlie Manuel hasn’t seen any reason to change his mind since he posted what would have been his lineup yesterday afternoon. He’s sticking with the same group, meaning Chase Utley will sit, at least the first game, and Kevin Frandsen will take his spot at second base.

Here’s how they’ll face White Sox starter John Danks (2-6, 4.31) in Game 1:

And then it’s Lannan vs. Hector Santiago (3-5, 3.49) in Game 2.

Is it just me? Phils hitters are smacking quite a few would-be homers off the walls these days. What say you pro commenters? I would say I’m just imagining things, but I thought the same thing about all of Sandberg’s greenlit runners gunned down at the plate and well… Yeah, that was a lot of slow old guys nailed at the dish.
