Delmon Young Is Playing Right Field Tonight and You Can Freak Out About It If You Want

I'm not going to though. Not yet at least.

Granted, I don't watch a ton of American League baseball and I'm not going to pretend to know how bad bad is, but it's not like the Phillies have never had awful defensive outfielders in the past.

And sure, just because Delmon has made some of the more hilariously awful plays ever GIF'd doesn't mean he's totally inept, does it?

Let's give the guy a chance before we totally kill him and mock Charlie for his decisions. Because everything else Charlie has thrown out in his lineup has been so perfect anyway, right?

Were there many better options for Ruben at a similar price point? A temporary fill-in who has some legit potential and should be motivated to do well?

I'm not saying he'll be great in the field or anything. Hell, he could be pretty damn awful.

But on this team? I'll give Delmon a chance.
