Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Whatever: Phillies to Move Sunday Game

Share

We're getting word from sources that the Philadelphia Phillies will forgo their Sunday afternoon match up with the Marlins and, instead, attempt a day-night double header on Saturday in hopes of avoiding the wrath of Hurricane Irene.

Update: From the Phils:

"Due to Hurricane Irene, Sunday's game vs Florida has been moved to 1:05 pm ET Saturday. It will be played as part of a day-night twin bill."

As Kulp put it just moments ago, "P------! You think Babe Ruth would have moved a game because of a little wind and rain? F--- No! He would have demanded a fresh box of Cubans!"

Play ball.
