Game Chat: Phillies Look to Salvage Series (Season?) in Houston with Doc on the Hill

Share

The Phillies put fans through one of the worst losses of the season on Saturday night in Houston, with the offense being stifled yet again by some pitcher you've never heard of, but they still sit 3 games back of the final wild card spot. The Dodgers and Cardinals now share that spot with Milwaukee and Pittsburgh still ahead of the Fightins as well.

In order to salvage a series split and keep the playoff dream alive, you're going to need a real solid effort from starter Roy Halladay. If Doc can't beat Astros starter Jordan Lyles, and the Phils end up dropping 3 of 4 in Houston, it's hard to rationalize this 2012 Phillies club being deserving of a playoff berth.

They simply must get it done today.

2:05 pm start from Houston today.

Scoreboard Watching: Brewers at Mets (2:05), Pirates at Cubs (2:20), Cardinals at Dodgers (4:10)
