Here’s Nine Minutes of Marcus Hayes Arguing with a Seattle Radio Show

Aug 23, 2013, 2:01 PM EDT

If you’ve made it this far and you’re sitting in front of a computer on a Friday afternoon in the summertime, you probably already hate life, so why not stick a knife in your ear and listen to nine minutes of Marcus Hayes arguing with a Seattle radio station about whether or not the Philly columnist believes Ken Griffey Jr. took steroids.

Hayes ended up on a Seattle radio station after he said some strong things on Twitter on Thursday night while arguing with Ryan Lawrence about something or other while also implying that he believes Griffey took PEDs.

My favorite quote from Marcus, “I talked to a guy named Mike Schmidt…”

I think I know who that guy is.

Unless there is some way to prove that a player has taken PEDs or any type of drug for that matter there is no sense in accusing said person of violating league rules. What is to gain from slandering someone it can’t be proven. Why bother unless your struggling for attention and ratings but then all your doing is selling out to your own ego.

What’s to sop someone from accusing Marcus Hayes of shooting up crystal meth in the late ’80s.can he produce a blood or urine sample to prove otherwise?

This will definitely help our national image where sports are concerned.

Grab a big steamer pot and toss in Marcus Hayes…Eskin…Conlin…many would say Gonzo…and Didinger-the-Eagles-insider-with-zero-accurate-breaking-or-exclusive-inside-info-ever…

Then add a helping of Wheels’ arrogance…Sarge’s word vomits…T-Mac’s-I-can’t-believe-that-was-a-home-run…

    That’s some serious Shit Stew.

At times you can’t help but ask, “What did we do to piss off the sports gods so bad”? Then you remember how ‘media’ works: The truly accomplished/respected reporters have either been snapped up by national entities or long since retired, leaving us with career option-less dregs who wallow forever in the Philly market, cocooned in self-importance, thrilled that someone just recognized them in PJ Whelihan’s or Shop Rite or just drunkenly shouted their name while trekking to ‘work’ through a tailgate lot.

That’s as good as it will ever get for Marcus.

I could argue with a lot of that – I am guessing you don’t have much use for institutional knowledge, which is the sort of things Didinger provides in droves and Conlin used to, before his disgrace.

I live between the DC and Baltimore markets and would like to tell you that Philadelphia sports media is not so bad. But it’s just your opinion and you’re entitled to it.

But whether he is a good or bad analyst, or somewhere in between, please explain to me how Chris Wheeler is arrogant?
