It's a story most of us diehards have heard multiple times by now, but a
few new anecdotes come out each time we hear about how Ruben Amaro Jr.
landed Cliff Lee this past winter. Philadelphia Magazine, in their April
issue that also features that crazy topless lady, writes at length about the deal that brought Cliff and his family back to town.
My favorite nugget? Kristen Lee telling RAJ not to break her heart
again. Oh, and this line that gave me goosebumps thinking about the
actual moment Ruben heard these words, "Later that night, Amaro’s cell
phone rang. 'Ruben?' Once again, the voice of Braunecker [Lee's agent]
on the other end. “You got Cliff back.'"
