six of the Phillies' MLB coaches have agreed to contracts for the 2012
season, manager Charlie Manuel announced today.

While some fans were calling for hitting coach Greg Gross' head following the season, the coaches aren't the ones who are going up to the plate. A nicer approach would be welcomed next season, but in the end, the players swing the bats.
Also returning will be first base coach Sam Perlozzo, third base coach Juan Samuel, bench coach Pete Mackanin, and bullpen coach Mick Billmeyer.
Mackanin had been rumored for some potential managerial positions throughout the league, but it looks like he'll be back in Philly next spring.
