Phils Attempt to Crush Atlanta's Hopes While Tying Franchise Record

The Phillies will not only look to play spoiler to Atlanta's playoff aspirations this evening but a win behind Roy Oswalt would tie the Phils' all-time best single-season win total of 101. Who says these games have no meaning?

Last night's 4-2 victory in Atlanta actually had a real nice playoff-like atmosphere to it. Playing in such a setting probably helps the Phillies prepare for the postseason a whole lot more than a meaningless game down in DC or Florida would.

Following Doc and Cliff's final tune ups, Roy Oswalt (8-10, 3.86) will finish up his regular season campaign tonight against Derek Lowe (9-6, 4.92)

Oswalt got lit up for 6 earned runs in his final regular-season start in Philadelphia, but he wasn't nearly as bad as his line read, and he actually said he felt fantastic after that loss to the Nats.

"I felt pretty well," Oswalt said. "Actually spotted pitches pretty well early. Probably the best I've felt all year."

The Phils postseason opponent could be determined this evening, playing the Diamondbacks if these outcomes happen tonight:

the Braves win
the Cards lose
the Brewers win
the Diamondbacks lose

First pitch scheduled for 7:10. Let's set records.
