Philadelphia Phillies slugger Ryan Howard gave his State of the Big Piece address this afternoon down in Clearwater, Florida, and shared his thoughts on everything baseball. Yes, the Phillies may be aging, but he's not going to go out and call them old. You can if you want though. He also spoke poetically about the Phillies window of opportunity potentially closing in the not-too-distant future.

"I
understand the window talk," Howard said. "Yeah, there is a window of opportunity, but
if you focus on the window closing, then you never let that cool breeze
come in. For us, the window closes when the window closes, but right now
the window is still open, so we have to go out and take advantage of
this nice breeze while we can."

There's plenty of time to enjoy the summer breeze down at Citizens Bank Park, people. Let's not fret just yet.

And we can all be glad he got rid of that hat he wore last spring. Phew. Surely his swing and pitch selection will be equally improved this season.
