Roy Oswalt Looks to Steal Back Some Headlines, Sweep the Cards

Jun 23, 2011, 7:31 PM EDT

After a wild day in Philly sports, the Phillies look to steal back some headlines as Roy Oswalt takes on the Cardinals and looks for the St. Louis sweep.

Ah yes, after a wild day in Philadelphia sports, the first place Phillies also play a ball game tonight as they look to go for the sweep against the Cardinals in St. Louis. It’s Roy Oswalt (4-5, 3.38) taking on Chris Carpenter (1-7, 4.47) in the final game on the road before the Fightins return home tomorrow.

Charlie will go with the same lineup he used last night, with Raul getting some rest once again, with Oswalt pitching.

The news on Jose Contreras is a 4-6 week stint on the DL with a grade 1 flexor strain in his elbow.

8:15 pm start time from St. Louis. Can the Phils steal back a rare summer day in which the Flyers stole the headlines? Will Andre Iguodala be traded? How will Roy’s Oswalt’s velocity read on the St. Louis guns?
