The Phillies will turn to Vance Worley this afternoon in a matinée against the New York Mets. The Mets took last night's series opener with the help of a couple of long balls off of Cliff Lee and another stifling performance from knuckle-baller R.A. Dickey.
A preview of today's pitching match up from CSN's "What you need to know:"
Vance Worley (0-0, 1.50 ERA) starts for the Phillies. Worley pitched
well in Pittsburgh in the opening series (6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K)
and exited the game in line for a win. The Phillies’ bullpen blew the
lead and the Pirates won on Andrew McCutchen’s walkoff single.

Jon
Niese (1-0, 4.50 ERA) makes his second start of the season for the
Mets. New York signed the 25-year-old lefty to a five-year, $25.5
million deal last Saturday, and he responded by pitching six no-hit
innings against the Braves. Shoddy Mets defense resulted in a final line
for Niese that belied his overall performance.
Charlie's Full Lineup for today: 1. Victorino, 2. Polanco, 3. Rollins, 4. Pence, 5. Mayberry, 6. Wigginton, 7. Galvis, 8. Schneider, 9. Worley.
Look at Freddy getting bumped up to the seven spot after his first career home run last night.
David Wright returns to the lineup for the Mets after suffering a broken finger earlier in the week. Tough dude.
4:05 pm start time from the Bank. Let's avoid an early season series loss the Mets, okay?
