Thanking the fans of the city you spent so many years in after departing for the next stop in an athlete's journey is nothing new, but it is different and special every time it happens.
Shane Victorino and his wife Melissa took out an ad in Thursday's Daily News which read:

and to the amazing Phillies fans for all the GREAT memories

It also prominently featured the Shane Victorino Boys and Girls Club in Nicetown which Shane was clearly very proud of helping make happen.
