Watching Roy Halladay Discuss His Performance These Days Is Tough

lost... collapsing... frustrating... really looking forward to pitching today... disappeared... make things work... tough... hard time...

Those are all words Roy Halladay used last night when discussing his struggles in the Phillies 10-5 win over the Padres.

And if you watch the way Roy talks in the above video, it's strangely painful. Like his most amazing gift is drifting away but still maaaybe within reach. He juuuust can't get it.

He also admits that Philly is a tough place to try and find one's mojo again. From Marc Narducci of the Inquirer (via):

“Philly is not an easy place to do that, you guys are pretty tough,” he said to the assembled reporters. “You have to be pretty mentally strong to block that out and go out there with confidence every time and trust.”

He said he feels good but did point to losing his lower half in the fifth inning which maybe could point to needing more work. But I don't know, does anybody work harder than Halladay?

I wouldn't bet against him. But it is looking like the odds keep getting longer on Roy Halladay ever finding the old Doc. And it's a situation that simply isn't very fun to watch.
