Worley to Miss Chicago Start Due to Elbow Soreness

Following the excitement of a walkoff win, Phillies nation was hit with a bit of a downer as starter Vance Worley will not make the trip to Chicago this evening with the rest of the team.

Jim Salisbury reports:

Worley did not accompany the Phillies to Chicago after Tuesday’s 4-3 win
over the Astros. He said he will stay behind and have his right elbow
evaluated on Wednesday.

“It’s a little sore,” Worley told CSNPhilly.com.

Worley was scheduled to start on Wednesday at Wrigley. The Phillies will likely opt to give Kyle Kendrick that start. Joe Savery is joining the team for the trip as well. The subsequent roster move needed to make room for him has yet to be announced.

Finally, Worley said he's "not worried," but he'd prefer to get a second opinion to ensure it's nothing more serious.

Let's hope.
