A Most Happy Holiday: Sixers Beat the Heat in Wild Game 4

Share

Not only did the Sixers defeat the mighty Miami Heat on Sunday afternoon in a wild finish in South Philadelphia that culminated in Lou Williams hitting a huge go-ahead three with seconds remaining, followed by a most enjoyable failed final attempt by LeBron James, but they did so with the future of professional basketball in Philadelphia showing glimpses of greatness.

Those who have watched this team all season know how hard they worked for this (currently) lone playoff victory. It would have been an absolute shame, after all the transformations Doug Collins' crew has gone through, to send them into the offseason sans a playoff victory.

The Sixers earned this one. They stepped up and beat LeBron, Dwyane, and co. by doing it at both ends of the floor. Jrue was phenomenal, showing glimpses of the amazing player that will run this team for the next decade, while putting a performance on Sunday that outshone two of the brightest stars in the game. Jrue Holiday, ladies and gentlemen.

Then there was Evan Turner. Holy shit, where did that come from? More of that please.

We'll have more on the victory later, but Sixers fans can bask in the glow of this one for a while. The Sixers season will continue on Wednesday in Miami.
