Don't Worry, Philly Fans: @SixersCEOAdam Is Still Tweet Tweet Tweeting Away

Share

Howard Eskin first reported on Twitter Monday afternoon that Adam Aron was out as CEO of the Philadelphia 76ers. Then one or maybe two of the Philly.com sites had a source confirming it. CSN's Dei Lynam had a source confirming it.

Then the Sixers denied it. Then Adam Aron tweeted about it and all was right in the bizarre world of the Sixers CEO.

Late Monday night Aron sent the following tweets out to his rabid followers:

And here's what Sixers PR man Michael Preston told Bob Cooney of the Daily News regarding Josh Harris and owner Josh Harris:

"They have been together for a long time and they will continue to work together with the 76ers," Preston said. "Adam Aron will continue to work for the 76ers. He has not been fired. All reports saying he was were wrong."

But will he remain in his current role as CEO? The above quotes from the Sixers do not specify that.

My guess, and this is pure speculation, is that Eskin's original report wasn't entirely off  base and that Aron will be changing roles/titles in some unknown way. So technically he could still be "out as CEO" but not fired from the team that he co-owns.

We'll see. Until then. Check the Twitter for more updates from your @SixersCEOAdam.
