Fans of the Philadelphia 76ers have had to learn to appreciate a good comedy as of late. So it should be welcomed news to learn that one of the franchise's all-time greats, Julius Erving, will be making a cameo on NBC's The Office in early 2013.
Entertainment Weekly reports the news that Dr. J will team up with Jim Halpert in some sort of business endeavor:
In the episode, Dr. J becomes an investor in the sports marketing
business that Jim (John Krasinski) is trying to launch in Philadelphia,
where Erving scored more than a few baskets as a 76er.
Set your DVRs for the January 17th episode.
What other Philly sports figures would you like to see make an appearance at Dunder Mifflin over in Scranton, PA? I think an Andy Reid as Michael Scott replacement would make for Emmy-worthy comedy.
Which reminds me of the time Michael Scott shared his thoughts on Allen Iverson. That was amazing.
