Former Sixer Eric Snow is selling some extremely expensive autographed Air Jordan sneakers

Sneakerheads love their Air Jordans. Heck, even casual footwear fans enjoy a fresh pair of Air Jordan 1s. I've got two pair myself. But what is the highest price someone would pay for a pair of Jordans that were actually worn by MJ in a game? And then autographed by His Airness? Quite a bit, it turns out.

Sports Illustrated posted an article yesterday about former Sixers point guard Eric Snow and how he came into owning an autographed pair of Air Jordan XI's that Michael Jordan wore during Game 4 of the 1996 NBA Finals when Snow's team at the time, the Seattle Supersonics, took on the Chicago Bulls.

From SI.com:

Grey Flannel Auctions notes that Jordan gave the sneakers to Snow in the locker room after the game. The shoes were later autographed by Jordan in August 2004 at one of his summer basketball camps in Santa Barbara, Calif. The winning bidder will receive a letter of authentication confirming that the shoes were worn by Jordan during Game 3 and later autographed.

Okay, so how much? As of this writing, the bidding is only up to $6,655 but there are still almost two weeks left in the auction. So how high could the auction go? Check this craziness out:

Last November, the auction house sold an autographed pair of the Air Jordan XII sneakers worn by Jordan during his famous “Flu Game” versus the Jazz in the 1997 Finals for $104,765. A former Jazz ballboy put those sneakers up for auction and the sale price represented a record for a pair of game-worn shoes.

Six figures. For a pair of sneakers.

In related news, the Charlotte Hornets new mascot will be rocking a pair of Jordans next season as well.
