LeBron James says Sixers have a “good one” in Michael Carter-Williams

Michael Carter-Williams, LeBron James

Michael Carter-Williams’ NBA debut was one Sixers fans won’t soon forget. LeBron James and the Miami Heat probably haven’t forgotten it either.

MCW dazzled us in his first game as a Sixer with 22 points, 12 assists and 9 steals. And he did it while leading his team to victory over the defending NBA champs and the best player in the game. It was the first joyous moment of what Philadelphia fans hope to be many in the career of Carter-Williams.

LeBron and his teammates certainly haven’t forgotten about that loss and having fallen to the Wizards on Wednesday night, they’re probably hungry to get back to the win column. The Sixers will have their hands full when they host Miami this evening.

Both LBJ and Heat coach Eric Spolestra spoke quite highly of the Sixers’ rookie while in Philly prepping for tonight’s game. From Dei Lynam’s story:

“He has been playing great basketball,” LeBron James said, referring to MCW. “Obviously he has his ups and downs like any ol’ rookie, but he has been playing pretty steady basketball for his team, so they got a good one.”

“He is that long multi-skilled point guard,” Spoelstra said. “There are very few of those types of point guards with that skill set. He eventually can be a multi-position player. I mean he almost had a quadruple-double in our game. It tells you the ability he has on the court to impact the game in a lot of different areas.”

The rematch goes down tonight at the Wells Fargo Center. You think Brett Brown’s boys have another shocker in them?
