Mickael Pietrus Suffered Concussion, But Is in Good Spirits

Updating the status of Celtics forward Mickael Pietrus after his scary fall on Friday night (video) at the Wells Fargo Center, the team said yesterday that he did indeed suffer a concussion but has not yet gone through tests. From the Boston Globe: “It’s a concussion and he’s not even ready to take the test yet,’’
Doc Rivers said. “We’ll just have to wait and see. He sounds great. I knew
he had a concussion, but I was more worried about his neck. So we’re
fortunate. I have no idea [when he will return], we haven’t talked about
that.’’

We're just glad that it doesn't appear to be a serious neck injury. It was one of the more awkward spills we've seen in a while with the strange head-grab without even hitting his head. Concussions are scary business.
