Mission Accomplished: Sixers back at bottom of Atlantic Division standings

Share

Well, it's been a long road back to redemption since starting the season 3-0, but now it's official: The Sixers are once again the worst. After back-to-back losses this weekend--making it six in a row, but who's counting--to the Raptors and Blazers, and with a miracle win for the Knicks last night against Atlanta, the Knicks have actually matched the Sixers' seven wins on the season, with fewer losses.

And so with their 7-18 record, at long last, the Sixers are back where they belong: At the bottom of the league's worst division. It took the team long enough, certainly, but with the Ballers' absurd 139-105 (!!!) loss last night to Portland at home--bringing their record to 0-6 since Michael Carter-Williams went down with his infected knee--it's certainly about time.

That said, they still have their work cut out for them to sink to the bottom of the entire league. The Bucks and Jazz both lost last night, meaning they remain well below than even the Sixers with their respective 5-19 and 6-20 records. The Jazz have been playing better recently, though, actually winning five of their last 11 games, and the Bucks have some players returning from injury, so hopefully the Sixers will outpace them soon enough.

Minorly sad that these are the things to give us joy in this 2013-14 basketball season, but such is the temperature in Tankadelphia this winter. Drink some spiked nog, watch some college hoops, and revel in the future.

Happy free-agents-can-finally-be-traded day everyone. HINKIE WATCH is in full effect.
