Photo Gallery: Checking out Kendall Marshall, Aquille Carr and the Delaware 87ers

source: The Delaware 87ers recently kicked off their season down at the Bob Carpenter Sports Convocation Center in Newark and we were lucky to have friend of the Level and photographer Tug Haines down at a game last week to snap some great photos of the D-League action. You can check out the gallery below.

There are two shots of Kendall Marshall since he is the team leader in several stats as well as in spirit. There is a great shot of everyone’s favorite ballhog and YouTube sensation Aquille Carr. Tug described his ballhogedness as “potentially a detriment but he is an electrifying player and a crowd-pleaser.” There are also shots of former La Salle player Steve Weingarten and former Temple Owl Dustin Salisbery. JR Inman went to Rutgers. Thanasis Antetokounmpo is a Greek/Nigerian. You may recognize the familiar face of Big Daddy in there. He told Tug he’s going to be at every 87ers home game he can possibly attend.

The Sevens dropped the Thursday night game to the Idaho Stampede. Carr and Marshall both lead the way with 22 points each.

Passion. Pride. Delaware.

I still can’t figure out why they’re called the 87ers rather than simply the 87′s. Even their uniforms realize the mistake and say “SEVENS”

My home state disappoints once again. Thanks, Joe Biden.

These guys will definitely be ready to play for the Sixers. It’s not easy to shoot against a backdrop of empty seats, but it looks like their home gym is almost the same as the Wells Fargo Center in that respect.

Idaho vs. Delaware. Maybe in an old 1-AA football game, but otherwise, I’ll pass.
