Video: Blake Griffin's Dunk Over Kendrick Perkins That The Entire World Is Talking About

Share

We didn't want you to be the only person in line for coffee this morning who hadn't seen Blake Griffin's monster posterization of Kendrick Perkins last night.

The throwdown in the Clippers-Thunder game sent shockwaves across the Internet, with Twitter instantly blowing up with 140 characters of gibberish that all basically translated to, "Holy sh!t, Blake!"

Dime Magazine quickly called it one of the best dunks in NBA history.

The Los Angeles Times has more on the setup to the dunk, including this quote from Griffin:

"Like I said, it's the timing of the play. It's the timing of when I got
the pass, the late rotation, all that," Griffin said of his dunk. "If
all that comes together at the right time, it happens. It's not like I
caught the ball and said, 'OK, let's go make something happen.' It just
kind of came together like that."

On the other side, Perkins seemed to take it in stride. From probasketballtalk:

“It happens,” Perkins said in the corner of the Thunder locker room. “A
the end of the day if you’re a shot blocker, you’re going to get dunked
on. It was a great play that he made. Obviously I wish I wasn’t in it,
but it was a great play that he made.”

Was it better than LeBron's completely-jumping-over-a-defender slam on Sunday?

The Blake Show and the Clippers will in Philadelphia on Friday, February 10th. You may want to get a ticket to that one.
