  1. Did Eagles Rookie RB Bryce Brown Never Play Tecmo Super Bowl?

    Sep 7, 2012, 4:03 PM EDT

Bryce Brown is 21 years old which means he probably grew up playing some version of the ubiquitous Madden football video game. But does the younger generation who grew up playing Madden football not know the glory of Tecmo Super Bowl?

  2. LeSean McCoy vs. Browns Run Defense and Four Other Key Match-ups on Sunday

    Sep 7, 2012, 2:15 PM EDT

As you may have heard by now, the Eagles kick off the regular season on Sunday in Cleveland against the Browns. And as we are wont to do around here before a big game, we took a look at some of the big match-ups ahead, examining and breaking down what will tilt the scales in either team’s favor.

  3. ESPN Metrics Rank Sixers 21st Best Franchise in Sports, Top in Town

    Sep 7, 2012, 1:50 PM EDT

It’s kind of a flawed list considering where one of Philadelphia’s other teams sits in the pack, but your 76ers are earning some national love. So they’ve got that going for them, which is nice.

  4. Video: Eagles Guard Danny Watkins Eats a Cricket for 120 Bucks

    Sep 7, 2012, 11:43 AM EDT

Eagles second-year offensive guard Danny Watkins is almost as well known for his prior life as a fireman as he is for being pretty good at football. After all, he bought himself a big ass fire truck this offseason. I guess with being a fireman comes the need to be a resourceful individual. Like if you don’t have any real food around you can just turn to indigenous insects.

  5. First Down? DeMeco Ryans. Second Down? DeMeco Ryans. Third Down…

    Sep 7, 2012, 10:59 AM EDT

That’s his name, so don’t want to wear it out — especially before one real game has been played.

The hope was that DeMeco Ryans would come over from the Houston Texans and stabilize a linebacker corps that was woefully in over their heads just a season ago. Unfairly or not, his arrival has been met with mixed reviews thus far — I’ll go on the record as siding with “unfairly.” Nonetheless, the seventh-year veteran’s athleticism has been called into question since an Achilles injury struck in 2010, and the idea he is still a three-down player is exactly that: an idea.

  6. Video: Every NFL Fan in 90 Seconds

    Sep 6, 2012, 7:37 PM EDT

Some are much better than others. Sadly, the Philadelphia Eagles one just isn’t very funny. The Dallas Cowboys fan was pretty on point. I got a chuckle out of the Baltimore Ravens fan as well.

  8. Poll: Who Makes a Better Avian: Mike Vick or Andy Reid?

    Sep 6, 2012, 1:18 PM EDT

The Daily News published their big Eagles season preview issue today and it features the above pull out cover of Andy Reid and Mike Vick Photoshopped (we’re assuming) onto the heads of Eagles.

Like, the actual flying avian kind.

  9. Jason Avant Makes a Good Point Regarding Replacement Refs and Player Safety

    Sep 6, 2012, 11:35 AM EDT

As we discussed earlier in the day, the replacement refs in last night’s Cowboys-Giants game did a solid job. They made a few generally questionable calls but nothing you wouldn’t see from a regular set of refs. But there were also rumblings that the NFL picked the best of the replacements to work last nights game to try and get a little bit of leverage by showing the replacements can be adequate.

  10. Tony Romo May Have Played Quite Well, But At Least 82,000 New Yorkers Felt Like These Guys Last Night

    Sep 6, 2012, 2:30 AM EDT

Eli Manning and the New York Giants may have been the ones celebrating a Vince Lombardi trophy prior to kickoff on Wednesday night in East Rutherford, New Jersey, but it’s Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys who are leaders of the NFC East this morning following their 24-17 victory last night.

  11. NFC East Rivals Square Off in NFL Return

    Sep 5, 2012, 7:27 PM EDT

The wait is over. Are you as excited as we are, even if it is a game between two teams you are hardwired to hate?

The NFL kicks off tonight at 8:30 in its traditional fashion, with the reigning Super Bowl champions playing host. Eight months after the New York Giants met the Dallas Cowboys to determine the last remaining playoff spot in the final game of the 2011 regular season, the rematch is set for the first game of 2012. And although there is less at stake this time around, at the end of the night, one of these two teams will be in first place in the NFC East.

  12. Opposition Beat: Talking Eagles-Browns with Cleveland’s WFNY

    Sep 5, 2012, 12:26 PM EDT

Every week during the 2012 season we’re going to hit up some of the most knowledgeable people on the Internet when it comes to the team the Philadelphia Eagles are playing that particular Sunday. Up first, Scott Sargent of the go-to Cleveland sports site Waiting for Next Year.

Kulp:Third-overall pick Trent Richardson didn’t play all preseason after having “minor” knee surgery, but is expected to be ready for Week 1. How large a role will he play in the offense versus the Eagles?

Scott, WFNY: If any, I think we’re looking at a two-down situation with Richardson on Opening Day.

  13. Revisiting the Sheldon Brown Trade

    Sep 4, 2012, 1:47 PM EDT

A look back at Sheldon Brown’s time with the Eagles, why he was traded, and what the team got in return.

  14. The Tony Danza Prophecy of ‘The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenom’ Almost Realized

    Sep 4, 2012, 10:55 AM EDT

When I heard that the Eagles’ newest defensive addition acquired from the Cleveland Browns, safety David Sims, was a trash man at one point on his journey to the NFL, I couldn’t help but think of the cinematic classic starring Tony Danza, “The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenom.”

  15. 2012 Eagles Regular Season Precap SWAGs

    Sep 4, 2012, 10:21 AM EDT

A game-by-game prediction for the Eagles, who open their 2012 campaign this Sunday.

    Sep 1, 2012, 12:46 PM EDT

A look at the 53 players who survived cutdown day and will enter the 2012 season for the Philadelphia Eagles.

  17. Andy Reid Will Be Fired Over Another 8-8 Season, Unless He Isn’t

    Aug 31, 2012, 1:13 PM EDT

Jeffrey Lurie delivered his annual State of the Eagles address before Thursday’s preseason game, and while the CEO didn’t have much of interest to say, the media was quick to hone in on the ultimatum of sorts he imposed on Andy Reid. Let’s see if we can deliver this is the simplest of terms using Lurie’s own words.

  18. The First Eagles Cheerleader Photo Gallery of the Season

    Aug 31, 2012, 2:12 AM EDT

We’ve got our first photo gallery of the Eagles Cheerleaders of 2012 right here.

    Aug 30, 2012, 3:52 PM EDT

The Eagles and Jets will rest their starters — and Tim Tebow — in the fourth and final preseason game at Lincoln Financial Field.

  20. Who Will Be Top Dog in the NFC East?

    Aug 29, 2012, 3:47 PM EDT

A brief overview of all four teams in the NFC East. Will the Eagles wind up division champions?

  21. Michael and the Amazing Technikevlar Flak Jacket

    Aug 29, 2012, 3:26 PM EDT

Great news, Eagles fans! You no longer have to worry about Eagles quarterback Mike Vick and his ribs. At least not if you put your full trust in the maker of the new super high-tech protective gear he plans on wearing.

  22. Michael Vick Is the Proximity Mines in the Complex

    Aug 28, 2012, 2:02 PM EDT

My freshman year of college was a blur, but I do remember spending hours on end in other kids’ dorm rooms in Cheverus Hall playing 4-player Goldeneye for N64. Perhaps I should have spent more time working on my Freshman Writing Seminar so that I could learn to be creative enough to come up with an idea like NFL QBs as video game weapons.

  23. Predictions Week: Will Eagles’ Defense Be Any Good?

    Aug 28, 2012, 1:23 PM EDT

Do you think Juan Castillo and this defense are ready to redeem themselves this season?

  24. Brian Westbrook to Sign 1-Day Contract to Retire an Eagle

    Aug 28, 2012, 12:05 PM EDT

Before there was DeSean Jackson’s punt return against the Giants, No. 36 pulled off one of the greatest plays for a come-from-behind Eagles victory that we’ve ever seen up at the Meadowlands. It was all made possible by Brian Westbrook.

  25. Jason Kelce Is Wearing a Raccoon Skin Hat…Just Because

    Aug 28, 2012, 2:53 AM EDT

Jason Kelce’s beard has been in the spotlight but now his hat is making waves.
