    Despite reports yesterday that the brother of Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin indicated that all was “fine” with Jeremy and that the team would provide an update on his health today, it appears we’ll have to wait a while longer. Andy Reid informed the media that the team was still waiting on some test results, per Jeff McLane of the Inquirer, but we could hear something later today. The mystery continues.

    Reid also said that the starters will play the first half of this Thursday’s preseason game against the Steelers. Ryan Harris, dealing with a back issue, will not see action, nor will Winston Justice, per Les Bowen.

    Well, the Eagles have inked another Pro Bowler this off-season, agreeing to terms on a one-year deal with wide receiver Steve Smith, formerly of the New York Giants. Smith underwent microfracture knee surgery in December, and his now former coach, Tom Coughlin, previously said he has “a ways to go” before being ready to play again, so he will likely not be available at the start of the season, perhaps even starting off on the PUP list.
