    Aug 23, 2011, 11:47 AM EDT

Yahoo! Sports’ go-to Russian reporter Dmitry Chesnokov has the details from an Q&A Bob did with Pavel Lysenkov with Flyers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky about his offseason. Topics range from his thoughts on being teammates with Ilya Bryzagalov, Bob’s new wife Olga and her difficulty getting into the states last year, his honeymoon in Greece, and his current workout plan.

  2. We the People Like the Looks of This Possible Ilya Bryzgalov Mask

    Aug 23, 2011, 12:45 AM EDT

When we posted a picture and link to the Ilya Bryzgalov Tiger mask painted by Stephane Bergeron of La Griffe Originale, Level reader Bill commented that the people at Drummond Custom Airbrush in Bucks County were working on Bryz’s mask. I checked in with Drummond last week to see if this was the case, and they confirmed that they were indeed working on Bryzgalov’s mask.

On Monday night, @PuckDucky tweeted a picture she said was Drummond’s Bryzgalov mask (right), which appears to be adorned with some awesomely Philly-centric images. Drummond confirms that this is their mask, and we’re pretty eager to see the rest of this it.

  6. Michael Nylander to Fill 2011 Bill Guerin Aged-Vet-in-Camp Role, or More?

    Aug 17, 2011, 9:59 PM EDT

Earlier Wednesday, the Flyers announced via Twitter that they had invited center Michael Nylander to camp on a tryout. Nylander, 38 (39 in October), hasn’t played in the NHL since the 2008-2009 season, when he put up some pedestrian numbers with the Washington Capitals (9 G, 24 A in 72 games). But, he has previously been a very productive linemate of new Flyer Jaromir Jagr on two different teams, which “partly” played a factor in the team’s decision to bring him in, said Paul Holmgren to Tim Panaccio.

  7. Is This Ilya Bryzgalov’s New Flyers Mask?

    Aug 16, 2011, 9:47 PM EDT

InGoal Magazine posted a link to the site of Stephane Bergeron of La Griffe Originale, which appears to contain images of Ilya Bryzgalov’s new Philadelphia Flyers mask. Prominent on each side is a green-eyed tiger, whose stripes appear to have a tribal-tattoo-like quality. The ones on the face look kinda Tyson-ish… On the chin is his trademark “BRYZ,” And a Flyers logo adorns the space just above the cutout.

  8. Let’s Hope These Aren’t the Only Cup Holders Added to the Wells Fargo Center

    Aug 16, 2011, 12:10 PM EDT

Comcast-Spectacor has announced it will be adding cup holders to all seats inside the Wells Fargo Center.

  9. Mark Recchi’s Stanley Cup Tattoo Hurts Us More Than It Hurt Him

    Aug 16, 2011, 10:17 AM EDT

Mark Recchi was a helluva Flyer, one of the fan favorites of our lifetimes over his two stops with the team. Recchi retired after winning his third Stanley Cup, each coming with a different team, and all with a team that wasn’t the Flyers. So, while he earned the tattoo you’ll see in the video below, it stings us just a bit. OK, it stings a lot.

  10. JVR Supports Evan Turner’s ManiPedi

    Aug 15, 2011, 2:54 PM EDT

Yes, there were no games played in Philly sports yesterday or today. So we’re left with Evan Turner and JVR discussing manicures and pedicures on Twitter. On Saturday, Reemer was supporting soccer and today he’s getting behind male grooming. Oh how we long for the day of playoff beards. JVR tweeted this @ Evan Turner…

    Aug 8, 2011, 4:05 PM EDT

ESPN Page2′s DJ Gallo makes an argument for Philly over Boston as the “sports capital of the world.” Another guy argues that Beantown, with their plethora of championships over the last 10 years takes the crown, but that’s all in the past.

  14. The Orange & Black Clearance Rack

    Aug 2, 2011, 7:49 PM EDT

  15. Peter Laviolette’s Dry Island and the Flyers World We Don’t Know

    Jul 25, 2011, 10:48 AM EDT

Was partying and drinking a big factor in the Flyers decision to trade Mike Richards and Jeff Carter? Dan Gross of the Daily News says it was, and that the two players refused to stay on “Dry Island”

  16. Dan Carcillo to Make Another Entourage ‘Appearance’

    Jul 24, 2011, 11:14 PM EDT

Vincent Chase and Co. are back for their final season, and with them, the many cameos of Entourage. As we’ve seen in previous seasons, that can often mean some hockey players. In the preview of next week’s episode, Dan Carcillo’s framed Flyers jersey appears to be hanging in the agency office (behind Andrew Dice Clay, somewhat appropriately).

Perhaps you remember the last quote-unquote Dan Carcillo appearance on the show? If not, here it is. Full jersey acknowledgement in the final season? Carbomb is moving up in the Entourage world.

  18. In Case of Taunting Flyers Fan: Break Glass

    Jul 14, 2011, 9:02 AM EDT

It seems like a year ago that the Flyers were actually alive and well in the NHL playoffs, but some video we hadn’t previously seen has surfaced via the illustrious Puck Daddy vaults. Check out how Tyler Myers of the Buffalo Sabres responded to some pre-game jeering by a Flyer fan:

  20. Flyers Finally Ink Wayne Simmonds

    Jul 7, 2011, 4:47 PM EDT

  21. Off the Beach: What You Missed

    Jul 5, 2011, 9:31 AM EDT

While you may have stepped away from the Internet, the weekend was full of sports news. From fans in Toronto running on the field to the Flyers free agency frenzy, here’s a recap of what you may have missed.

  22. Simon Gagne Joins Mike Richards in Los Angeles; Vokoun to DC for 1.5M

    Jul 2, 2011, 8:32 PM EDT

Two former faces of the Flyers have today find themselves teammates again. After Simon Gagne was firmly asked to waive his no-trade clause last off-season, he was dealt to Tampa Bay, where he spent 2010-2011. This off-season, with a year left before his own no-trade clause kicked in, Mike Richards was dealt to the Los Angeles Kings. Now, Flyers nostalgists have another reason adopt LA as their Western Conference team this season. Already dubbed Flyers West, the Kings added another former Broad Streeter today, signing Gagne to a 2-year, $7 million deal. Meanwhile, Tomas Vokoun signed with the Washington Capitals for well below what most thought he’d fetch on the open market.

  23. Where’s Jagr? Hint: Not Pittsburgh

    Jul 2, 2011, 9:55 AM EDT

Whether you’re a fan of the Flyers signing Jaromir Jagr on merit alone or not, I hope you can at least derive some pleasure from the fact that the city of Pittsburgh had to cancel its Welcome Home parade for him. It’s a little funny to me to see how many hockey media personalities—not even just Pittsburgh folks—are treating Jagr as some sort of traitor in the wake of his signing with the Flyers. I guess that has more to do with his side not being perfectly forthright with the Pens, but when you look at the result, it’s hard to fault them. First of all, he’s been a Capital, a Ranger, and played in the KHL, then had multiple teams courting him the whole way back to North America. Second, the Flyers gave him $1.3 million more than the Pens reportedly offered. It’s kind of a no-brainer for the Jagr camp.

  24. Blackhawks Sign Dan Carcillo

    Jul 1, 2011, 7:18 PM EDT

We knew Dan Carcillo was highly unlikely to be back in Orange & Black, and word’s just come over the wire that he has signed with the Chicago Blackhawks.
