The Eagles lead the Oakland Raiders 28-13 after the first half thanks in large part to the impressive play of Nick Foles and Riley Cooper. Foles was 15-19 in the first two quarters, good for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns to 0 interceptions. Foles had a perfect 158.3 passer rating in the half. The Birds…

Coach pic.twitter.com/84tgbj1wk9 — IG: @NickiMinaj (@NICKIMINAJ) October 28, 2013 That’s just — that’s just super. If you’re wondering what the hell is going on, Villanova brought in Ms. Minaj to perform at its Hoops Mania event over the weekend — one of those college basketball kickoff-open-practice-lively-party events that are becoming bigger and bigger spectacles. Michigan…

It’s one thing when we all sit at home and make fun of just how awful of a football game we watched between the Eagles and Giants yesterday. But that’s part of the reason Twitter and hard alcohol exists, so we can bitch about the things we endure as Philly sports fans, try to make…

You probably aren’t reading these words but here’s a quick explainer anyway. The Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders unveiled their new calendar with a nice pair of events down in Atlantic City on Wednesday at the Chelsea Hotel. First up was a beach competition in which the bikini-clad cheerleaders teamed up with emergency responders who helped with…

You may have seen the feature on Deadspin yesterday about “Athletes Among Us,” a photo series of athletes doing regular sporty type things in everyday life settings. Pretty interesting stuff like a bunch of Olympic rowers in the middle of a pool on floats or an NFL football player tackling his wife into bed. The…

Roughly 70,000 fans piled out of the Linc in disappointment on Thursday night as the Eagles fell to Andy Reid and the Chiefs. Andy was so happy he was literally kissing the Philadelphia media after the game. As the Evster mentioned in his fantastic post earlier this morning about the pros and cons of attending…

According to a recent survey, research shows that 83% of NFL fans prefer to watch football games from the comfort of their own homes. Only 16% would rather view the game at a stadium while one person (me) prefers to watch while peering through a third story window outside of a Saint Joseph’s University sorority…

fast forward to 2:15 to see the fly Eagle fly Home openers always have an exciting vibe to them in Philadelphia. Everyone loves a little pomp to really add to the anticipation of the football season finally being back in town. Plus, jet planes flying a couple of hundred feet above your head at ridiculously…

I’m not going to waste a lot of words here, because really — good hair is good hair. Am I right, or am I right? The Sixers held final auditions for their Dream Team dancers at Parx Casino on Wednesday night and CSNPhilly.com’s Kevin Drennen was there to take some photos for us. The ladies were set to dance from tunes from J-Lo and Fergie so hopefully you were there to catch the exciting action. (The Phillies return to the…

If you’re not on Twitter yet, then you’re living a lie. Between Coco tweeting out pics of her bonkers bazooka butt, Rob Delaney’s absurdity and Richard Simmons’ zest for absolutely everything (he’s going to the movies today!), Twitter is by far the best thing going in this world. Even better than Federal Donuts. Yep, I…

Quick refresher: Andrew Bynum is a professional basketball player in the NBA who didn’t play for the Philadelphia 76ers this season.
Alas, he appears to be doing what any sensible human being who made something in the area of an eight figure paycheck over the last year or so. He’s traveling the world.

You may have heard of the bizarre story of the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders wanting to recruit the daughter of legendary pop star Michael Jackson to be a part of their squad. But there’s one problem: Paris Jackson is only 14 years old. The L.A. Times writes that you have to be at least 18 years…

Tough television choices this evening with the Sixers playing the Knicks at the Garden and Jennifer Lawrence wearing a dress at the Academy Awards. I may have to ignore Spencer Hawes for an evening, as tough as that may sound. And that movie with Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro is up for Best Picture!…

If you’ve ever hoped a wife of a Philadelphia Eagles football player would suit up for the Lingerie Football League and give the rough and tumble game a go while rocking some lingerie, today’s your lucky day. The New Year is all about reflecting on the past, looking forward to the future, and according to my wife: not shaving your legs until mid March/early April. So seeing that this is the time for Best Of columns (and because I couldn’t think of a decent thread for this post), here are my Year-End…

The Internet may be shutting down early this eve so people can rush to the liquor store/beer distributor to pick up a last minute spirit to help ensure your Uncle Tony is good and socially lubricated at your family Christmas party, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for a Christmas-themed Sixers Dream Team photo…

The start to yesterday’s Eagles-Bucs game was putrid. It was all negative seven yard three-and-outs and punts. So when this little dude flashed his dance moves with the Tampa Bay Cheerleaders, many were saying it’d be the highlight of the day. That was before Jason Avant went human-highlight-reel and Nick Foles started drawing up plays…

The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this afternoon down in the Sunshine State. What is there to watch for at this point in the season aside from hoping they lose to better their draft position? How about the debut of Marvin McNutt and Ryan Rau (who?). On a more serious note, we’ll…

*Spoilers* This isn’t an all out movie review but it definitely talks about lots of details in the movie. I saw a screening of Silver Linings Playbook last night before it hits theatres next week. I tried not to spoil any of the major plot lines, but if you don’t like knowing anything about a…

The Sixers preseason slate continues this evening with their first ever trip to the Barclays Center in the heart of Brooklyn, New York.
Now, the interest in the Nets move to Brooklyn may vary quite a bit among you, but given that my sister lives just a few blocks away from the new venue, I’m likely a bit more intrigued at the transition than many of you. I certainly hope to get up there for a game or two this season.
As you can see in the above video and read in Grantland’s article titled, “How Jay-Z and the Brooklyn Nets took over the New York borough,” the team’s arrival is a pretty big deal to those in close proximity.

There’s been plenty of ugly on the field at PPL Park this summer due to the Philadelphia Union’s inability to put the ball in the net for weeks at a time. The ladies of the Lingerie Football League will attempt to give you something a bit more appealing to look at on the pitch next summer as the Philly Passion will play two home games at the soccer stadium in Chester on June 15 and July 13.
