As much as it would be relief to finally have an answer one way or the other for even just one school or the other, the Big East is going to remain in a state of flux for months, if not years to come.

Penn State has themselves quite a game on January 2 — this year’s date for the traditional New Year’s Day bowl games. They are headed for something called the Ticket City Bowl, and will face the Houston Cougars, an opponent that was undefeated up until this weekend.

The Temple University Football Owls are scheduled to meet the Wyoming Cowboys in the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque on December 17th. It will be the Owls’ second bowl appearance in the last three seasons.
Dec 3, 2011, 8:41 PM EST
The Temple Owls were erratic for parts of their 86-74 home opening win over Central Michigan, but started and finished strong enough to make sure the outcome was never in doubt. The win is their first of the year at the Liacouras Center and their 23rd straight at home, a new building record.
Dec 3, 2011, 12:47 PM EST
The Temple Owls have been lacking depth since starting the season without small forward Scootie Randall. Now they’re really in trouble.

The Temple University Owls closed their regular season schedule with 34-16 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes on Black Friday afternoon. The win—Temple’s eighth of the season—puts the Owls squarely in the mix for an at-large invitation to a bowl game.
Nov 19, 2011, 6:02 PM EST
Don’t tell the Temple Owls their season is over. Their 42-14 rout of the Army Black Knights on Saturday showed no signs of let down after the team was eliminated from the chase for the MAC Championship earlier this week.
Nov 18, 2011, 4:03 PM EST
The Temple Owls are a team who miss the leadership, offense, defense and physical contributions of Scootie Randall. Watching their 85-77 loss to the Purdue Boilermakers Friday afternoon made that fact painfully clear.

Two field goals—one missed, one made, and neither in the right way for the Owls—have put Temple out of the running to reach the MAC Championship game in Detroit.
Nov 16, 2011, 1:29 PM EST
Though the outcome of tonight’s MAC showdown between the Ohio Bobcats and Bowling Green Falcons has zero effect in determining whether Temple will or will not win the MAC East, it will have an impact on the ways in which the team can or cannot reach the MAC Championship.

Zack Rosen made a strong case for why he may just be the best guard in the city. Unfortunately for the rest of his Quaker teammates, his game-high 27-points would not be enough. The Temple University Owls barely survived the Penn Quakers on Monday night, needing overtime to ultimately escape the Palestra with a 73-67 victory.
Nov 14, 2011, 11:36 AM EST
The Temple Owls will be without Khalif Wyatt this evening when they take on the Penn Quakers, as the guard serves a one-game suspension for a “minor internal matter.” Tonight’s match up will be the Quakers’ 2011-2012 home opener, and the Owls first game of the season. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m and can be heard 1210 AM.
Nov 12, 2011, 11:09 AM EST
Penn State has been through one of the worst weeks a university could imagine for the most part, but on Saturday there will be a four-hour window to attempt to escape from the off-field scandal that has taken the nation by storm.

Some weren’t sure there’d be a football game between Penn State and Nebraska today. Would they cancel out of shame, respect, fear? The answer is no, that the game will go on, unless something shocking happens between now and kickoff. One person has already tried to derail the game with a bomb threat, just part of the circus going on in Happy Valley today.

A grassroots Penn State alumni group (one not affiliated with the University or the Alumni Association) decided they’re tired of seeing the focus on the football team and coaches. The real issue so many people seemed to have missed or quickly moved on from is the victims and the horrible crimes committed against them.
Working with RAINN, a charity aimed at helping victims of sexual abuse, the goal is to raise $500,000, which amounts to about $1 for every Penn State alumnus.
