  1. Hamels Deals as Bench Steps Up to Beat Brewers 7-2

    Sep 9, 2011, 2:15 AM EDT

The Brewers have been a scary team when playing at home in Wisconsin this season. Coming into tonight’s game they were a very impressive 50-19 at Miller Park. But none of those games were played against the Phillies and their reserves!

  2. Phils In Milwaukee for Four: So Much for that Potential NLCS Preview

    Sep 8, 2011, 5:42 PM EDT

This was supposed to be the big test for the Phillies during a month in which they’re kind of just going through the motions waiting for October to come. But as the Phillies kick off their four-game series at Miller Park in Milwaukee where the Brewers have a dominant record, the Fightins’ will be without three of their studs.

  3. J-Roll Points to 2007 ‘Team to Beat’ Statement as Franchise Turning Point

    Sep 8, 2011, 4:09 PM EDT

Jimmy Rollins recently spoke with Comcast SportsNet about his future with the Phillies organization, but J-Roll didn’t just talk about the uncertainty about where exactly he’ll be playing shortstop next season, he also reflects back on his amazing run to date in Philadelphia.

  4. Pretty Good Three Game Set

    Sep 8, 2011, 1:53 PM EDT

I’d say it was a pretty successful three-game set at the Bank this week, a little rain aside. We thought we’d cap it off with this fantastic photo from the Level Flickr group that we had been saving for a rainy day.

  5. Phillies Complete Sweep of Atlanta with Walkoff Heroics

    Sep 7, 2011, 11:04 PM EDT

Not only did the Phils get to one of the Braves formidable young bullpen arms in the eighth to tie the game up, but they finished in fantastic fashion with a Ross Gload pinch-hit walkoff winner in the ninth to put an exclamation point on who the NL East belongs to this season.

  6. Oswalt and Phils Attempt to Complete the Sweep of Braves

    Sep 7, 2011, 6:48 PM EDT

A rare instance in this evening’s game when the Phillies starter actually has a higher ERA than the opposing team’s starter. Roy Oswalt (7-8, 3.80) takes on right-hander Brandon Beach (7-2, 3.37) in the third and final game of the series.

  7. John Mayberry’s Agent Tries To Find Him The Mermaid From ‘Pirates’

    Sep 7, 2011, 1:33 PM EDT

John Mayberry Jr. of the Phillies reportedly had his agent reach out to try and find the mermaid from Pirates of the Caribbean so he could perhaps entertain and/or date her.

  8. A Fan Reacts Properly to a Potential HR

    Sep 7, 2011, 2:28 AM EDT

We frequently point out all of the idiots who lean over the railing and interfere with a ball in play, so we thought it only right to give props to the guy who reacted in proper fashion to a ball hit off the very top of the wall in center field at Citizens Bank Park last.

  9. Worley Schneider = Phils Win Again, Of Course

    Sep 7, 2011, 12:49 AM EDT

The Phillies win their 90th game of the season, once again on the back of their unlikely 5th ace. A look at the company Vance Worley is now keeping, and the Schneider Effect.

  10. It’s Raining A Lot, But Phillies Are Gonna Try to Play

    Sep 6, 2011, 4:59 PM EDT

Vance Worley is scheduled to start tonight against Tim Hudson and the Braves. It’s currently raining all across the Delaware Valley and the forecast does not look promising for the next day or two. With the Phillies remaining schedule containing zero off-days, I think you’re going to see a lot of sitting around as the teams try to wait out the weather.

  11. The Phillies Sense October Nearing

    Sep 6, 2011, 4:02 PM EDT

The atmosphere at Citizens Bank Park last night was fantastic. It helps that the Phillies were putting up runs in bunches and making awesome defensive plays to support the dominance that Cliff Lee brought to the game.

  12. Cliff Lee In Cy Young Contention

    Sep 6, 2011, 12:11 PM EDT

Cliff Lee’s ability to string together amazing game after amazing game has made him an absolute joy to watch pitch for the Phillies this season. After last night’s complete game shutout (his sixth of the season, a feat not accomplished since Randy Johnson in 1998), Cliff is firmly in the Cy Young conversation.

  13. Ryan Howard Photo: I Got This

    Sep 6, 2011, 2:57 AM EDT

We mentioned Ryan Howard’s sick basket catch in foul territory which earned him a standing ovation last night, but this photo really does the reactions justice. The guy in the front row on the far right even has one of those awful full-photo t-shirts with Ryan Howard on it.

  14. Cliff Lee and the Phillies Dominate the Braves in 9-0 Romp

    Sep 5, 2011, 9:34 PM EDT

Cliff Lee was brilliant on Monday night as the Phillies kicked off their series against Atlanta by destroying the Braves 9-0

  15. Lee vs. Lowe As Phillies Start Week Against Potential Playoff Foes

    Sep 5, 2011, 6:14 PM EDT

While the Phillies hold a comfortable lead over the Braves in the division race, they’ve only split the season series to this point against Atlanta. And with the Braves looking like a potential NLCS opponent, the remaining games against them could be something of a statement if the two do meet come October.

  16. Some Final Thoughts From Charlie Manuel On Joe West’s Fan Interference Ruling

    Sep 5, 2011, 5:10 PM EDT

Charlie Manuel maintains that he never asked for a review, despite West saying he did, but did Jack McKeon ask for a review to see if it was a home run?

Charlie had some fun words on that subject.

  17. Joe Blanton’s Back for the Title Run

    Sep 5, 2011, 3:03 PM EDT

Following yesterday’s long and ugly 14-inning affair, the Phillies could use a couple of fresh arms in their bullpen. David Herndon can only walk batters for so many innings. So it’s welcomed news that Joe Blanton has been activated from the 60-day DL this afternoon in time for the Braves three-game set in Philadelphia.

  18. Joe West Comments on Replay Controversy

    Sep 4, 2011, 9:13 PM EDT

Umpire Joe West is claiming that Phillies’ manager Charlie Manuel argued prior to the review that Pence’s hit was a home run.

  19. Phillies Lose in 14, Protest over Controversial Replay

    Sep 4, 2011, 6:10 PM EDT

The Philadelphia Phillies will await a ruling from league office following their 14-inning 5-4 loss to the Florida Marlins Sunday afternoon. The game was finished under protest after a controversial video replay in the sixth inning.

  20. Halladay Helps Shutdown Sun Life Stadium

    Sep 4, 2011, 12:57 PM EDT

Roy Halladay takes the mound today for the Phillies final game ever at Sun Life Stadium. It is, of course, the scene of Doc’s perfect game, so perhaps he can help it go out with a bang this afternoon.

  21. Herndon and Phils Have Had Better Nights

    Sep 4, 2011, 12:54 AM EDT

Do you think David Herndon should walk the plank? Is he so bad you don’t think he belongs on the playoff roster? Or have you forgotten his last 11 appearances?

  22. Remembering That Crappy Florida Stadium

    Sep 3, 2011, 9:26 PM EDT

Mickey Morandini once threatened to knock out the organ player if he didn’t stop playing the theme to the Mickey Mouse Club when he batted.

  23. Cole Hamels’ Turn Tonight in South Florida

    Sep 3, 2011, 5:53 PM EDT

Hamels (13-7, 2.58), who bounced back in a big way after his DL stint, will take on familiar right-hander Ricky Nolasco (9-10, 4.34). Cole has been fantastic against the Fish as of late, going 4-0 with a 1.51 ERA over his last 5 starts against them. That after putting up an awful 0-6, 4.62 ERA in his previous 10 starts against them. Positive turnaround there.

  24. Living History: Phils 42 Games Over .500

    Sep 3, 2011, 11:15 AM EDT

The Phillies climbed to 42 games over .500 for the first time in franchise history with their 5-3 win over the Marlins in Florida.
