    Aug 17, 2011, 4:43 PM EDT

The Philadelphia Phillies are back at it and looking to rebound with a victory after last night’s disappointing loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. In year’s past, we might have worried that a late-game loss could have done damage to the team’s psyche, putting added pressure on them to win the following night. But then we signed Cliff Lee to follow Roy Halladay, lost sight of our embarrassment of riches and stopped worrying about these things.

  5. Does It Matter Which Way You Wear Your Championship Ring?

    Aug 17, 2011, 4:11 PM EDT

It’s a question I never once thought about, but after Harry Kalas’ shiny new statue was unveiled yesterday as Citizens Bank Park, the Internet folk have gone to war over it. Which direction should your 2008 World Series Championship ring be worn? With the ‘P’ facing down when your hands are relaxed and standing? Or…

  6. Phils Give Michael Schwimer His Big League Shot

    Aug 17, 2011, 2:22 PM EDT

  11. Harry Kalas Statue Unveiled at Citizens Bank Park

    Aug 16, 2011, 8:58 PM EDT

Before Tuesday night’s game between the Phillies and the Arizona Diamondbacks, the team unveiled a fan-donated statue of legendary broadcaster Harry Kalas. Merion native Larry Nowlan sculpted the 7.5-foot bronze figure. Harry will now stand in the concourse on the third base side of Harry the K’s forever. His right hand is adorned with the 2008 World Series Championship ring, grips a microphone, and leans on a bat.

Bruce Adams of the Daily Local News has more on the statue and the sculptor, and John Gonzalez covered the unveiling for CSNPhilly. Below, some screencaps of the statue, which was unveiled by Jimmy Rollins and Steve Carlton, as well as a video shot by a fan at the game.

  14. Gentleman Jim Thome Slugs 599th, 600th Homers, Thanks Charlie Manuel

    Aug 16, 2011, 7:21 AM EDT

There was a glimmer of hope that Jim Thome might sneak back into Phillies pinstripes as the trade deadline approached, but he remained a Minnesota Twin. Even though he wasn’t a Phillie when it happened, I think we can all join him in celebrating hitting career milestone home run #600, which came on the same night he hit his 599th and collected three total hits in helping the Twins top the Detroit Tigers, 9-6. After the game, Thome thanked Charlie Manuel.

  20. Homecoming: Phils Back at the Bank, Your Kruk Memories?

    Aug 12, 2011, 5:20 PM EDT

Just before every time one of our local teams has a string of games out west, I feel like we hear it referred to as a test for them. With the Phillies’ recent ‘test’ including a four-game set in San Francisco, home of the current World vomit Series Champions, as well as coming just after the big trade deadline swap meat went down in Major League Baseball, we were interested to see how the Phillies would fare in their 10-game road trip.

A 9-1 away swing later, including two sweeps and three of four against the Giants, our Fightins are back home, returning to the packed stands of Citizens Bank Park. It’s a gorgeous summer night in Philly, a perfect evening for some divisional baseball.

    Aug 10, 2011, 6:41 PM EDT

We’re not pointing any fingers, but many of you are from Delco and almost all of you are Phillies fans. Anybody… uh… maybe… rob an Upper Darby bank on Tuesday, maybe… make off with $20k?
