May 16, 2012, 5:28 PM EDT
Sure, the Sixers beat the Bulls in the opening round of the playoffs last week, but that series certainly didn’t have the history of the Boston-Philly rivalry. They’re playing that rivalry up for tonight’s Game 3 matchup at the Wells Fargo Center, with rally towels and signage reminding us of the bitter, epic feud these two teams used to have back when most of us were wee lads.

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks for the Philadelphia 76ers, as they pulled off the weirdest upset in NBA history against the East-best (though roster-depleted) Chicago Bulls and now face an aging-but-loaded Celtics team with the chance to make the Conference Finals (!!) for the first time since 2001. As always, we called in Michael Levin of the excellent Sixers blog Liberty Ballers to help us put the Bulls series to bed, see what we have coming with the Celtics, and generally figure out what the hell is going on.
