The 2011-2012 NBA All-Star reserves will be announced this evening and Andre Iguodala appears to be firmly seated on the bubble. Most who follow the league closely think this is Dre’s year to finally get recognized as one of the best all-around players in the game. Buoyed by the Sixers’ fantastic start, one of Doug Collins’ guys certainly deserves a spot. We hope Iggy gets his nod.

The Sixers ran into the dynamic duo of Tony Parker and Violet Palmer on Wednesday night at the Wells Fargo Center. It’s tougher to say which of the two played a more pivotal role in the Spurs 100-90 victory over the Sixers.

The Sixers have performed brilliantly over this tough seven-game stretch, but still have tough’ns to go against the Spurs and Clippers.

The 2011-2012 Sixers: fun for people of all ages. First it was Old Man Knees giving it to Kobe Bryant and now we bring you the awesome dancing Sixers kid doing his best Dougie for Doug Collins and the boys. This little dude is a quasi regular at the Sixers games over the past few seasons, sitting in the area behind the basket now partially reserved for the revolutionaries. Big Daddy (aka James Brister Jr.) may get the most crowd reaction, but little man has the best moves. [video below]

God bless the local news. This explains everything. A cheesesteak is delicious and revitalizing at first, but once you finish the final fourth of it, your legs are tired and you’re dragging.

The Wells Fargo Center was alive last night and the Sixers faithful were treated to one of the most exciting wins of the season thanks in large part to Lou Williams.

Kobe surpassed his former teammate, Shaq, to move into the fifth spot on the NBA’s All-Time scoring leaders list. Once he passed Shaq midway through the second quarter, Kobe went ice cold, hitting only one other field goal the rest of the game. It was, however, a fricking sick bucket, reminiscent of a certain Dr.’s up-and-under reverse layup against a certain L.A. team.

With the Lakers leading 88-86 with just less than three minutes to play, Kobe Bryant was whistled for an offensive foul. Mr. Bearded Kneeling Man made sure Kobe knows which end of the court he’s supposed to head to, and Lou Williams would take things over from there. [video below]

What a finish from Lou Williams! LouWill was going OFF in the fourth quarter, scoring 7-straight points at one point with less than 3 minutes to play and propelling the Sixers past the Lakers.

In recent years, fans would fill up the arena when Kobe came to town to see one of the best to ever play the game. In 2012, 76ers fans are coming in droves to watch one of the hottest teams in the NBA give every single ball club that comes into their house an absolute run for their money.
Feb 6, 2012, 12:07 PM EDT
But the best moment came on Friday night at the packed house in South Philly. The fans were reaaaally getting annoyed with LBJ’s antics, whining after every single frickin’ play, so when Andre Iguodala took the ball coast-to-coast and slammed home one of the most authoritative dunks of the season, it was pure pandemonium.
