I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that these are more than just your average dog leashes and assume they're developed by NASA and used by the Navy SEALs to help maximize high velocity agility mobility metrics stuff. Right?

Shady cleared up the leash thing for me. Those weren't leashes, but ropes attached to balls the players were carrying during a fumble drill.
