Aside from a sarcastic and hilarious Charlie Manuel tirade against the media after game one of their double header, Sunday was mostly forgettable for Phillies fans. Both Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee failed to earn victories.
Saturday, on the other hand, had a historic moment with a quirky tale to go along with it.

As you've likely heard by now -- heck, it was even on the front sports page of USA Today this morning -- after blowing his first save of the season in the top of the ninth inning on Saturday, closer Jonathan Papelbon offered $5,000 to any teammate who ended the game with a walkoff.
Jim Thome led off the bottom of the ninth and made sure to make a deposit.
As Phillies beat writer Jim Salisbury pointed out, the walkoff home run was Thome's 609th of his career, moving him into a tie with Sammy Sosa for seventh all-time. Saturday's win also marked the 900th of Charlie Manuel's big league career.
Big Jim and Charlie reaching a pretty amazing milestones on a day when Thome played the hero was not lost on him.
“With all he’s done for me, that’s very special,” Thome said. “It’s something you’ll never forget.”
