According to CSN’s Jim Salisbury, the Phillies have come to terms with outfielder Laynce Nix who played for the Nationals in 2011. Salisbury believes it’s a two-year deal pending a physical.

Nix appeared in 124 games for Washington last season, hitting 16 home runs and 44 RBIs while batting .250 with an OBP of .299 and SLG of .451. MLB Trade Rumors summarizes Nix as a “journeyman known for his ability to hit for big power against
right-handed pitching (career .198 ISO versus righties), but he doesn’t
get on base much and his career .506 OPS against southpaws shows he’s
definitely a platoon player.”

You may best remember Nix for his sick catch on a Dom Brown shot early last summer.
