Shane Victorino was back in the Philly area on Sunday playing a rehab game with the Reading Phillies who were just over the river at Mercer County Waterfront Park taking on the Trenton Thunder.
Shane and fellow Phillie-on-the-mend Brad Lidge both contributed to the R-Phillies victory on the day, but it was a Victorino foul ball in the first at-bat of the game that would be most talked about after the game.
Victorino drilled a ball deep down the line in left and he thought he had just hit a home run. He even got his tater trot on and got all the way past third base before the R-Phillies Manager informed him at was actually ruled a foul ball.

Anthony Coleman of the Trenton Times writes:
In his funny moment, the crowd of 7,023, as well as Victorino,
thought he led off the game with a homer off Manny Banuelos. Victorino
rounded the bases just to be stopped after touching third by manager
Jeff Parent to tell him the ball was foul, which umpire Tim Russo
signaled as such after Victorino rounded first. From the cheers of the
crowd, Victorino thought it was fair, and first-base umpire Doug Vines
never stopped him at second to tell him it was foul.
“Parent stopped me at third and said, ‘It wasn’t a home run,’” the
two-time Gold Glove winner said. “I said, ‘Well, I appreciate you
letting me trot around the bases.’ No one stopped me. It was an
embarrassing moment.”
Poor Shane and his embarrassing minor league moment. The good news for him is he's scheduled to rejoin the team in Chicago and could see action this week at Wrigley Field. Because nothing awkward has ever happened to Shane at Wrigley Field.
