Video: Hunter Pence Is Heading to the World Series, Talks About Crazy ‘Triple Hit' Ball

Share

Hunter Pence, second on the Phillies in home runs in 2012, is heading to the World Series. The goofy outfielder made the transition from last place team to World Series contender official last night when the San Francisco Giants put a whooping on the St. Louis Cardinals to complete the impressive comeback from down 3-1 in the series.

And, of course, Pence doesn't do anything the normal way. Sporting a scruffy beard, Hunter had one of the greatest plays ever made for super-duper-crazy-slow motion cameras that FOX employed for Game 7 of the NLCS. Pence hit a ball up the middle, good for a base hit, but when you watch it in slow-mo his bat actually hit the ball three separate times. Leave it up to Hunter.

Pence and the Giants will take on the Detroit Tigers in the World Series. Are you pulling for Pence to represent the NL? Or do the wounds of 2012 still sting too much?
