After missing six games with a concussion as a result repeated blows to the head sustained during the Flyers' 4-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Jan. 21, Danny Briere will return to the lineup tonight against the New York Islanders.
The Flyers have gone just 2-2-2 since losing Briere to the head injury, a record that includes last weekend's difficult-to-swallow losses to the Rangers and Devils.
From CSNPhilly's Sarah Baicker:
“Hopefully I can provide a little spark,” he said. “It’s been a little tough lately, at least since the break – especially at home. We don’t like our record at home, it’s something we want to improve. So hopefully I can come in and help out in that department.”
With any luck, tonight should serve as something as a return to normalcy for the Orange & Black. Not only will Danny be back on the ice, but the Islanders will be in the building. Prior to Long Island's streak-snapping win on Jan. 19, NYI had not won a game in the Wells Fargo Center since April 2007.
