The Flyers will take the ice tonight for the first time since losing Chris Pronger to that brutal eye injury on Monday against the Maple Leafs. Paul Holmgren said that Pronger saw the doctor again today and that "he continues to progress nicely." That said, the orange and black will be without their Captain for the foreseeable future including tonight's game up in Montreal as the Flyers take on the hapless Habs.
The Canadiens have been frightfully bad thus far this season. They've scored one goal or fewer in six of their eight games and have a pitiful power play success rate. They're converting just 9.4 percent of their PP opportunities and are 0-4-2 over their last six games. Not good.
Meanwhile, the Flyers power play has been banging as of late, but will they sustain their clip (4th best in NHL) without their top blueliner? The Flyers were not nearly as successful on the PP last season when Pronger was out of the lineup.
