It’s Only Two Games, But We’ll Take It

One week into the new NHL season, we're excited to see the Flyers putting up a pair of road wins against rival clubs, including the defending Stanley Cup champs. Hell, we're just excited to have hockey back to rid us of the memories of last season's collapse, the early departure for the 2011 Phillies, and whatever the hell the Eagles are doing to us.

One week into the new NHL season, we’re excited to see the Flyers

defending Stanley Cup champs. Hell, we’re just excited to have hockey
back to rid us of the memories of last season’s collapse, the early
departure for the 2011 Phillies, and whatever the hell the Eagles are
doing to us.

With that in mind, we’ll gladly celebrate the Flyers
taking The Hockey News’ top billing in week 1′s NHL power rankings. The
NHL season is long, with rocket ups and catastrophic downs that can last
for months and still not change the teams’ ability to win a Cup. But
with a team sending nine new faces out on the ice every night after
hitting the reset button this summer, it’s at least good to see the new
guys playing with a spark to start it off…
