Asante Samuel Does Not Seem Too Happy

Share

Philadelphia football fans were elated over the weekend with news of the three-headed cornerbacking beast that is now the Eagles secondary. The majority of the Birds' team seemed thrilled too. Todd Herremens tweet was one of my favorites, "Bedtime... Forget counting sheep, I'm gonna count corners1... 2... 3.. Zzzzzzzzz.....Haha.."

Alas, not all in Eagledom are thrilled. Particularly the President CB himself.

Asante Samuel finally arrived for camp this morning, and when talking to reporters after practice, didn't seem real thrilled about the current situation. And can you really blame him? Joe Banner has already said the team is listening to trade offers for the Pro Bowler.

When asked if he asked the team for a trade, he gave the classic, "No comment." When asked where he wanted to be, he said, "where I'm wanted."

But this quip from Samuel was perhaps his best in passive aggressiveness, "If they're tired of my bigplaymaking ability, they’ll ship me out. If not, they’ll keep me here."

He does have a point.

UPDATE: To be a bit more fair, Eagles Insider Twitter account added this to counter balance the above sentiments, "Media Interp. of Asante's comments interesting. He began with 'It's wonderful to be back. I'm home. Ready to go to work. Happy to be here.'"
