His first mini-camp as Eagles head coach is only slated to
wrap up today, but talk of the impact Chip Kelly is making in Philadelphia has
already begun to spread. He’s brought from Oregon his famed up-tempo practices,
hip-hop music is blaring at the NovaCare Complex, and players are enjoying
post-workout smoothies customized to their own personal diet.

That’s all well and good, but what fans want to know is how
any of that stuff will translate into a better product on game day. Since the first
round of practices was closed to the media, all anybody really has to go on are
generalities and these assorted bells and whistles.

However, at least one player believes based on what he’s
seen so far that Chip is going to revolutionize the NFL. Brent Celek seems
nothing shot of amazed by how Kelly and his staff are planning to communicate
plays in to the offense, something the tight end told reporters he “never
thought was possible.”

For obvious reasons, Celek didn’t elaborate into exactly how
Kelly’s communication system is unique. What we do know is the Eagles’ offense
is expected to pick up the pace this season, likely going with more no-huddle
as they look to get up to the line of scrimmage quickly and run their
opponents right off the field.

Wait, so does that mean the Eagles aren’t going to waste
timeouts anymore because the coaches couldn’t get the play in from the
sidelines on time? Because I think we’re all really going to miss that. Chip
Kelly is making Andy Reid seem antiquated in a big, big hurry.
