It’s only fitting that the hottest team in the NFL is also in first place. By virtue of a 45-28 Dallas Cowboys loss on Monday Night Football, the Philadelphia Eagles have taken over sole possession of the lead in the NFC East.
In the grand scheme of things, the designation means very little. The Eagles still need to finish with a better record than Dallas in order to win the division, so a one-game lead is worthless unless they beat the Cowboys in Week 17.
That is, of course, if the Cowboys make it to Week 17.

yep RT @MCatrillo If Eagles win next week, and Dal loses to GB, then Eagles would be able to clinch the East vs Chi no?

Of 9 potential scenarios, 5 involve Wk. 17 gm. being for division. 3 scenarios where Eagles could have div. wrapped up going into that game.

Only way Eagles can be eliminated from division contention before finale is if they go 0-2 and Dallas goes 2-0 in next 2 wks.
