What a bizarre story.
The Eagles just shocked plenty of football fans across the country by tweeting the news that the team has parted ways with the speedy receiver after weeks of strange rumors being batted about through the media and on Instagram.

It was believed the team was shopping him on the trade market with the hopes of at least a third round draft pick in return, but for whatever reason the kind of sad situation came to an end with his release from the team. The Eagles get nothing in return. Clearly there must be more to this story than the common folk are aware of.
Also noteworthy was a story about Jackson's association with members of the Crips gang out in L.A. where DeSean grew up. There wasn't a whole lot of substance to the story but it was another strange turn in a very odd ending to the receivers career in Philly.
[UPDATE: DeSean released the following statement, denying any gang ties]
The Eagles will still take a hefty cap hit on DeSean's contract this season:
News
DeSean counts $6 million on Eagles' adjusted 2014 salary cap of $151,103,768. That's the remaining prorated 3 yrs of his SB at $2m per year.
