With the Eagles making pit stops at the Molly Pitcher Service Area this weekend before taking on the Giants at the Meadowlands, the fine people who brought you that amazing “We Will Rise” video now created a similarly fantastic video about DeSean Jackson’s Miracle at the Meadowlands.

Do you remember where you were? I sure do! On the La-z-boy chair at my parents house. Great chair.

The miracle was one of the best moments in my Eagles fanship, but I’m not sure what’s so great about this video? It’s literally the return with some uninspiring background commentary. Seems more like it was a last minute, throw something together while we wait, completely unnerved, to see what Eagles show up on Sunday. I’d rather see the video of a confident “we’re going to bring down your house and leave Eli crying.” Their last video was great, no question, but this just wasted download usage on me ATT plan because it was so over hyped by the author. We’re holding on to memories of a baseball team that won the WS 5 years ago, and the Eagles don’t have any more recent highlights than something that happened 3 years ago? I get it, the past is all we have, but we are also the people that freak out when others bring up the past i.e. santa snowballs. So which way is it?

Thank God Dodger and Giant fans exist, they make snowballs seem quaint and playful.

I agree, highlight re-hash has reached critical mass and this is weak use of a classic clip. It’s to the point now when you watch a nice TD or home run, the first thing in your mind is “They’re gonna replay that 500 more times over the next month”. Phillies are the absolute worst, they often throw any decent play back at you literally 10 times before the game ends, including 3 musical packages, and then 5 more times during the post-game. You have NO time to savor what you saw in context, as an original memory. Yea I know the hype machine rules all, but to me that kinda sucks.

Is that a John Goodman voiceover?

I was sitting in driver’s ed wearing an Eagles tshirt, sitting next to a giants fan. Instead of paying attention, I kept on giving her updates on what was going on. She was getting really flustered. It was a whole lot of fun.

If you want a much better recap of it:

    5 min well spent.
