Kevin Kolb Still Loves the Eagles

It's strange to think that the three quarterbacks that the Eagles had on their roster two seasons ago are now all starters in the NFL, albeit with differing levels of success in week one.

Donovan McNabb had a wormball of a weekend for the Vikings while Kevin Kolb made the Arizona Cardinals management feel a bit better about all of that cash they shelled out for him. Kolb was great over the weekend and on Monday was asked about his old team on the Scott Van Pelt Show.

"If we don’t win it, I want them to win it. I truly mean that. I
love those guys over there and I wish them the best except for Week 10
or 11, whenever it is that we play them."

Not exactly the same response you'd get from that guy on the Vikings, is it?

It's pretty clear that Kolb has maintained a great relationship with his former team, including the guy who took his job from him. Mike Vick did his weekly show on 94 WIP on Monday evening and talked about how he and Kolb are great friends and actually texted each other after Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers' crazy good performances on Thursday night's season opener. Vick said something along the lines of, "Now we gotta step it up," or something similar, noting that Kolb and Vick need to put up big outings on Sunday to stay at the top of the best quarterback conversation.

I'd say they succeeded in week one. And it's nice Kolb still thinks fondly of his old teammates.
